Because Illinois State University records indicate that you were a regularly enrolled student before fall 2004 and the tuition freeze policy applies to you. The University wanted to remind you of the policy so that you can schedule your spring courses appropriately.

The Board of Trustees froze tuition, general fees and the outreach fee for students admitted before fall of 2004 through the end of summer 2007. The board provided an additional freeze for coursework taken fall 2007 through summer 2009. Courses taken during this period will be charged at the fall 2005 rates rather than the higher rates that would apply to new students in fall 2007.

The Truth in Tuition Act applies only to students enrolled in the fall 2004 semester or later. The Illinois State tuition and fee freeze was a proactive step designed not to disadvantage students who had enrolled before the implementation of Truth in Tuition.

No. The freeze is applied only through summer 2007 regardless of major or other circumstances.

No. The tuition freeze covers a continuous time period. A missed semester (or longer period) does not extend the duration of the freeze.
