Where Can I Use It?
The Redbird Card is accepted on the Illinois State University campus, including the Barnes & Noble Bookstore in the Bone Student Center and the Alamo II Bookstore.
Locations Accepting the Redbird Card for Purchases
Access the Location sheet for more information. Faculty/staff and retirees have only one account on their I.D. card – The Redbird Debit Account. The Redbird Debit Account is accepted everywhere the I.D. card is accepted for purchases. The exception is the Pharmacy, which is only available to students.
Locations Using Redbird Card for Verification
There are a number of locations and events on campus that require student verification for admittance. Therefore, these locations and events have been equipped with I.D. Card readers to accomplish this task. Your card will either be swiped through a card reader or you will be asked to show your I.D. Card.
- Check cashing at Bone Student Center and Cashier's Office
- University Golf Course
- OUTDOOR Store
- Capen Cinema
- Computer Labs
- Health Services for flu shots
- For purchasing tickets at the Bone Student Center Box Office at faculty/staff rates
- Recreation Services
- Admittance to some athletic events
- Admittance to some theatre events
- Library books and materials check out
- Some off-campus locations for State employee discounts
- Free bus service with Bloomington-Normal Public Transit
Where the I.D. card is currently NOT Accepted for Purchases
- Box Office Ticketmaster (Box Office does accept I.D. for other purchases)
- Capen Cinema
- Recreation Services on Beech Street
- Illinois State University Golf Course
The I.D. Card is not an ATM Card.
You cannot withdraw cash from your Redbird Debit Account.
