The Datatel Assistance Desk is available by calling (309) 438-2270 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays if you have questions.
All authorized users may access the system between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Sunday, unless otherwise notified. Budget transfers and final approvals are restricted to "normal business hours" -- 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. (for details and explanation, see: Hours of Operation)
Welcome to Illinois State's Datatel Support Web Site. Here you will find accurate and detailed information about every aspect of the Datatel Accounting System.
There have been recent changes in the way in which online Requisition and Voucher approvals are done. These changes affect only those users who do online approvals.
The enhancements to the online approvals process changed the APRN (Approvals Needed) screen. Approvers may still detail to REQM and VOUM to check and approve transactions, but they may also enter their User I.D.'s and passwords once and check off all reqs and POs they wish to approve on the APRN screen. Staff who create Requisitions and Vouchers that will be approved online by their fiscal agents need to mark the Requisitions and Vouchers "DONE" before they will appear on the fiscal agent's APRN screen. For details and instructions, see: Changes in Online Approval Process.
You can now detail from ACBL to the transactions that impact the Allocated Budget. The GLBI - GLA Trans Inquiry (47KB) form lists all of the transactions that comprise the current, future, and memo budget activity posted to the current account in the selected fiscal year.
Users can connect to Datatel from any location, either from any PC or MAC on campus, or from off campus using the University's VPN client, which enables users to access restricted services from off campus. The VPN client is available from the University Help Desk's download site.
The Datatel Web UI interface is available at: https:\\www.datatel.ilstu.edu .
The Web UI interface performs nearly identically to the UI GUI interface and installs only a Java applet on a user's MAC or PC. Personal settings (printer settings, frequently used mnemonics, etc.) are stored on the Datatel server and follow the user wherever he or she logs onto Datatel.
It is no longer necessary to use Datatel's Terminal Interface to change passwords. For the new procedure, see Password Change Instructions.
If you have any questions, please contact the Datatel Assistance Desk at (309) 438-2270 or Shirley Murphy at (309) 438-7613.
